In short
- We collect only what we need to run Bdemy: your account, your courses, your payments and your learning progress.
- We never sell your information.
- You pay with ABA, Wing or cash. We never see or keep your card number or bank password.
- Teachers see your name and progress in their course, never your email or phone number.
- You can ask us to see, fix or delete your information at any time.
1. Who we are
Bdemy (bdemy.co and the Bdemy app) is run by Bdemy Company, Street 598, Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It works together with our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
2. What we collect
When you make an account
- Your name and email address.
- Your password, stored scrambled so that no one, including us, can read it.
- If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We use the picture as your account photo. We never see your Google password.
- We don't ask for your phone number to sign up.
When you learn
- The courses you buy, the lessons you watch and how far you get.
- Courses and Library books you save, and choices you make on your profile.
When you pay
- What you bought, the price, the date, how you paid and whether the payment went through.
- Your card number and bank password stay with ABA. We never see or keep them.
- If you pay by Wing or cash, our team records that you paid.
When you teach
- Your name, photo, profile text and your courses.
- The ABA account we send your payouts to.
When you contact us
- Your messages on Telegram, by email or by phone, and the details you choose to give us.
When you visit
- Your device and browser type, your IP address and the pages you open.
- The link that brought you to Bdemy: an instructor's link, so the instructor gets their share (see Terms section 8), or an ad, so we can measure our ads. We remember an instructor's link for up to 1 year and an ad for 30 days, and save it on your account.
- You can read the Library without an account.
3. How we use your information
- To run your account and give you the courses you bought.
- To save your progress so you can continue on your phone or computer.
- To take payments, give refunds and pay instructors.
- To send you emails you need, such as your sign-up code, password reset and payment messages.
- To answer your questions and help you.
- To keep Bdemy safe, for example to stop account sharing, copying of courses and payment misuse.
- To understand how Bdemy is used, so we can make it better, and to measure our ads (see section 4).
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for anything you would not expect.
4. Cookies and analytics
Bdemy uses small cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. We also use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API, tools from Meta (the company behind Facebook and Instagram), to measure how well our ads work. They can tell Meta that a page was viewed, that a course page was opened, that a checkout was started, that an account was created, that a payment was completed (the course, the amount and the currency), or that you tapped a link to message us on Telegram or Messenger. When you start a checkout, create an account or complete a payment, our server also tells Meta directly, so our count is right even if your browser blocks the Pixel. In these messages from our server we send your email address and your Bdemy account ID only in scrambled (hashed) form, which Meta uses to match them to a Facebook or Instagram account, together with your IP address, your browser type and Meta's own cookie from this site. We keep these technical details for at most 90 days. We never send Meta your name, phone number, lesson progress or card or bank details. The Meta Pixel is not used on the lesson page, in the payment window, or on teacher and admin pages. When you open Bdemy from one of our ads, we remember which ad it was for 30 days, so we can see which ads lead to sales. You can limit ad tracking in your Facebook settings and your browser settings.
5. Who can see your information
- Teachers see the name and course progress of students in their own courses. They never see your email or phone number.
- The Bdemy team looks at your information only when needed, for example to help you, check a payment or give a refund.
- Services that help us run Bdemy (section 6) get only what they need to do their job.
- The law: we share information if Cambodian law or a court requires it.
- If Bdemy changes owner, your information stays protected by this policy.
We never sell your information.
6. Services that help us run Bdemy
- ABA Bank (ABA PayWay): payments and instructor payouts.
- Supabase: keeps accounts and Bdemy's data.
- Vercel: runs the website.
- Bunny: stores and plays course videos and Library files.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Google: Google sign-in.
- Meta (Facebook): measures our ads (see section 4).
- Telegram: support chats, and alerts to our team about new orders (the buyer's name and the course), courses sent for review and new teacher applications.
Some of these services keep data on servers outside Cambodia. They may use it only to provide their service to Bdemy.
7. How long we keep it
- Your account and progress: while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days.
- Payment and payout records: as long as we need them for accounting and the law, even after an account is deleted.
- Ad measurement data: we delete the technical details we keep for ad measurement after at most 90 days (see section 4).
- Messages to our team: as long as we need them to help you.
8. Keeping it safe
- Bdemy uses a secure connection (https) on every page.
- Passwords are stored scrambled, and course videos are protected so they can't simply be copied.
- Only the people and services who need your information can reach it.
No system is 100% safe. If something goes wrong and it affects your information, we will tell you.
9. Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- send you a copy of the information we keep about you;
- correct something that is wrong;
- delete your account and information (except the payment records in section 7).
Contact us (section 12). We reply within 2 working days and finish within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm it is really you first.
You can also limit ad tracking in your Facebook and browser settings (see section 4).
10. Children
- Learners from 7 years old are welcome.
- Children under 13 use Bdemy with a parent or guardian, who creates or manages the account and makes any payment.
- We collect only what we need to run the account.
- A parent or guardian can ask to see or delete their child's information at any time.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Bdemy grows. The date at the top shows the latest version. For big changes, we will tell you on the site or by message.
